Courtney Hahipene

Meet Courtney Hahipene!

Celebrating all women and their individuality is so important. That’s why getting to know Courtney was such a pleasure. This beautiful soul celebrates family, yoga, acting and singing. Courtney invited us into her home to talk further about her inspiring way of life.

The home was peaceful with a stunning bohemia chic aesthetic. Courtney, her sons Bodhi and Kanoa, Mother Nola and curly boy Ziggy the dog were so lovely with a light heart air about them. This curly haired family focuses connection, nurturing yourself in simple ways and being grateful.

Courtney teaches yoga in a beautiful Shala Yoga hub. As the Director of her business ‘In school Yoga’ Courtney inspires youth to create happy, healthy lives, one breath at a time.

Courtney says, ‘We facilitate yoga, meditation, breath work and rites of passage works in High Schools.’ The program helps students centre themselves and focus on the now. Additionally, running classes with parents and children, helping them connect and re-establish trust and bonds.

We can see this reflected perfectly in her own family bonds. ‘My husband Shane, is Maori from New Zealand, we met 17 years ago and we have our boys Kanoa 10, and Bodhi 7. We are uncomplicated and happy. I am very grateful for each of them.’ This family unit nurtures themselves by being in nature. On a Sunday you’ll find them bush walking, at the beach or gardening, this is their simple way of connecting. Courtney adds that her, ‘vivacious personality and creative energy comes from my Mother Nola’.

Like all families we can see ourselves in one another. Shaping the way we act, feel and look! Courtney has beautiful curly locks and so does her sons. Courtney stresses that frizz and lack of shine is her main concerns and will do mostly anything for moisture nourishment – All curly haired ladies can relate! The stars have aligned and the long anticipated new collection Curl Manifesto from Kérastase has just launched in Australia!

This collection celebrates the beauty in curly and coily hair. Wavy haired clients or even if you have fine hair that tends to get fluffy, you will love these miracle products! We provided Courtney with the Curl Manifesto collection ASAP and her hair has never been so nourished and shiny. Kérastase has been Courtney’s go to products for years, she says, ‘Curl Manifesto is without a doubt the best I’ve used, they know curls. I dress my wet curls into ringlets with the Curl Manifesto Crème De Jour and let it dry naturally, or with a diffuser if I want to add volume. The smell is divine! I love the range – No frizz and it makes my hair feel thick and full. My secret weapon every morning is Refresh Absolu spray, I spray it all over the boys and my hair to revive our curls. We practically bathe in it!’

It’s such a great feeling to see our clients happy with their hair especially in-between appointments. We love being able to prescribe the perfect haircare routine because we all have our own individual hair needs. We know with the correct haircare routine it’ll ensure your hair will remain beautiful from visit to visit.

Celebrating all women and their individuality is so important to us at Maurice Meade. Courtney loves to maintain her beautiful blonde colour with Natasha then, cut and styled with Gabriele, our Curl Specialist at our Karrinyup salon.

From cut to colour, everyone needs something different. Shinelle our Karrinyup Salon Manager says, ‘it is so important to us to connect with our clients and make sure we make them feel like the best version of themselves. Unique and confident.’ Courtney agrees in saying, ‘I like that we’re seeing more diversity, its great seeing people being themselves, unique and healthy.’

For 48 years Maurice Meade has celebrated all women and their individual beauty. These profiles are a homage to all our amazing clients that put their trust in our talented Hair Artists to help them look and feel their best.
